some thoughts...
A few days ago I went to the First Blood Show in Vienna.
I think First Blood is a really great band who keeps the message alive, they talk about things like politics, veganism, problems like racism or sexism and so on. They try to bring back important topics into the nowadays hardcore scene.
But to me it seems like the so called “hardcore kids” don´t care about a message anymore.
Carl (singer of First Blood) wanted to do a speech between the songs and suddenly somebody screamed these stupid words: “Less talk, more rock!”
I just shook my head and thought to myself: WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?!
This is not a fucking AC/DC concert! This is a Hardcore show!
To me it´s ridiculous to see these drunk party people screaming the words "Silence is betrayal"...do they really get the point? Will they ever "waste" their time to confront themselves with the message behind the lyrics? Probably not.
Maybe I´m a dreamer or an always grumping waste of humanity but it makes me sad so see Hardcore becomes this way.
There are not a lot of bands out there who raise their voice for something important.
So I will always continue to spread a message. I will always continue to speak for those who can´t speak. I will always continue to spread the word about vegansim and animal exploitation.
